College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) is an autonomous engineering institute, established in the year 1854 by the Britishers. The college offers nine UG and twenty-three PG programmes, and has more than 3200 students enrolled in its various courses. The institute also offers doctorate programmes in multiple branches of engineering.

The college was established in August 1983. It offers 9 graduate, 8 post graduates programmes and Doctoral programmes in 8 disciplines. Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT), established in 1983, is today amongst the top engineering colleges in India. MIT is affiliated to the University of Pune and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
